Lillian Carr Young is a Sydney based artist creating mixed media works. Anchored in her experiences growing up in Australia, Lillian creates images both real and imagined. In a direct and layered approach, she combines her knowledge of printmaking, painting and drawing.

“A plant catches my eye. Its form, its pattern. I make gel plate prints with it like a kid in a sand pit. Sometimes with intention towards a particular painting I have in mind, sometimes with complete abandon. Every print is used. A bit here, a bit there. Scissors, paper, paint and glue… like the sound of music, these are a few of my favourite things.” LY
